I like to have this mode in my news and courses :
when an unregistered user want to view the Lms news or courses , he or she would be able to view 20 or 30 percent of news or course text(characters) and at the end of page exists a message that tell to unregistered user : You should register for full access to news or course .
I think it`s cool .

What you mean exactly?
In my hopinion is not a good idea, you can put something like a flash movie as demo course outside the course (example in description)
