Object : Comments on user submitted files - hoped for feature
Hi,

As an English teacher, my students regularly submit essays. I figured out that the ideal way to do this in Docebo is through the Test feature which has a "file upload" option, so that the grades can be figured into the total for the class.

The problem that I can see so far is that there's no way to return a submitted essay with comments on it. This was a feature lacking in older Moodles, so I upgraded to the newest one (1.8something) so I could do it. I have also seen other LMSes that use a Dropbox feature. (Relatedly, can the students see what they have submitted?)

This "return document with comments" feature is really a key feature and shouldn't be too hard to do (I'm guessing).

I was even thinking that I could do it easily if I were allowed to use FCK Editor in the comment field when grading the submission. That comment field will take html code, but it would need the editor for uploading the file. Actually, though, this is not a good idea, but it's probably the easiest way. I think it lacks security.

Returning essays (uploaded files) should instead be an option available to the instructor when grading.

If I were a coder I would figure out how to do this. If someone else knows, I can usually cut and paste php well. I really, really want to see this feature, so I'm hoping someone can figure it out and post a hack.

In the meantime, I'm going to have to message students back their graded essays with my comments, so it's not life or death situation, but that's a clumsy workaround.

Hope that helps.

Really, this software is fantastic. My hat is off and I'm bowing to the developers and the community.
